Tanzania's northern circuit is the most popular safari route in Africa - which means booking with the right operator really matters.

We recommend EasyTravel because they are Tanzania's top-rated local operator, with the guide relationships and camp knowledge that non-specialists can't match.

This route covers the four parks that define northern Tanzania: Lake Manyara beneath the Rift Valley escarpment, the vast Serengeti plains, the wildlife-dense Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire's baobab savannah and elephant herds.

Accommodation can be adjusted to suit all budgets. Get in touch to discuss your preferences.

Detailed itinerary

What you'll see and do

This is a customisable trip

Use the following itinerary for inspiration. Remember: all days, hotels and activities can be altered to suit your requirements. A EasyTravel travel specialist will be happy to advise.

Arrival in Arusha

Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha, Tanzania’s long-established safari hub. Depending on arrival time, the safari briefing takes place either today or the following morning. This is a gentle start, allowing time to recover from travel before heading into the parks.

Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley escarpment

Travel west from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, set beneath the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment. An afternoon game drive explores groundwater forests, open lakeshore and woodland habitats, home to flamingos, primates, giraffe, buffalo and predators.

Drive northwest into the Serengeti, where the landscape opens into vast grasslands stretching to the horizon. Game drives over two days explore the central Serengeti, an area known for year-round wildlife concentrations, big cats and the Seronera River system.

After a final Serengeti game drive, travel southeast into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The first views of the crater rim offer a striking contrast to the open plains, with acacia woodland and cooler highland scenery.

Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive in one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich natural enclosures. After lunch, continue to Tarangire National Park, known for its baobab landscapes and large elephant herds.

Enjoy a final morning game drive in Tarangire before returning to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward travel.

We had a wonderful 7-day safari with Easy Travel. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organised, and we were warmly welcomed by our guide, Calvin. The accommodations were beautiful, and throughout our time in Tanzania we met some of the kindest and most welcoming people.

Calvin truly made the experience special. He is an excellent driver (the famous “African massage” included 😉) and extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and plants in each park we visited. Thanks to him, we were able to see the Big Five and many other animals up close, always in a way that showed respect for the animals and other visitors. Beyond his expertise, Calvin was calm, kind, and punctual, and he gave us the feeling that the safari was truly ours - always focused to our wishes and on making everything run smoothly.

In the background, Clelia was our local contact and provided a clear and detailed briefing on our first day. She remained reachable throughout the trip, responding quickly and clearly to any questions or updates.

Overall, we had a very positive experience with Easy Travel and would book with them again without hesitation.

Thank you, Calvin, for an unforgettable safari - we couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

I went on a safari organized by Easy Travel from Arusha, Tanzania. Everything was perfect: the hotels, the meals, etc. But above all, the best part was having Peter/Pedro as our guide. He's a charming, polite, and punctual guy, drives very well, and has the eyesight of a hawk for spotting animals. He even wakes you up if you fall asleep so you don't miss any of the many things Tanzania has to offer.

We had the most incredible experience exploring the Tarangire, Nauru, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and it was all thanks to our amazing guide Ombeni. From the very first moment, he went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect.

What truly stood out was his remarkable expertise and keen eye for wildlife. He has an uncanny ability to spot animals that we would have completely missed—from a leopard hidden deep in the acacia branches to a rhino in the distance. His 'safari wits' and knowledge of the terrain meant we were always at the right place at the right time. We found so many elephants and countless lions, lionesses and puppy’s.

Beyond his professional skills, he was incredibly kind and personable. Most importantly, he was extremely patient with our children. He understood that traveling with kids requires a different pace, and he never rushed us. He took the time to answer all their curious questions and made sure they were engaged and comfortable throughout the long drives.

If you are looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, professional, and has a heart of gold, look no further. He turned a great vacation into a life-changing family memory.
Asante sana! “Maluuuu, Jujuuuuuu, are you good? Hakuna matata”!!
We cannot recommend him highly enough.
