The campsite accommodates over 200 campers on large, shaded grounds with enough space between tents. Public toilets and outdoor bathrooms with hot showers are available for guests’ use, with 24-hour security for peace of mind.

Public toilets and bathrooms with cold and occasional wood-heated hot showers are available. Firewood and campfires are no longer allowed and must be excluded from the content per instructions. Security patrols maintain guest safety within the unfenced Tanzania camping site.

At Ngorongoro Simba Campsite, guests do not need to bring their own tents. Our safari chef will set up the tents we provide. They will have mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, and mosquito nets to ensure a comfortable Tanzania camping experience.

The Ngorongoro Simba campsite provides clean toilets and hot showers; however, firewood and campfires are not allowed and should be removed from the contents. Guests should heed safety advice relating to wildlife around the unfenced area, and rangers provide patrols for protection.

Dining at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite is enjoyed in a communal hall featuring nourishing local dishes prepared by the safari chef. Hot beverages and cold drinks are served to complement mealtimes, which are social occasions among campers.

Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp

Our Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp is only a 20km drive from the crater itself (around 40 minutes), set beneath an atmospheric acacia ‘umbrella,’ located in dense, sloping woodland and adjacent to a traditional Maasai community. Some will call the set-up here ‘glamping’, and it certainly offers a great level of comfort, considering the wilderness location. The nearby Ol Mote and Makarot mountains give it an added dimension, but it is the warm welcome of the staff which is the highlight for many of the visitors here.
