We are used to booking our own trips but didn't know where to start with Costa Rica. We reached out to a few companies and Jose with Horizontes was the fastest, most personalized and most helpful to work with. He even had a Zoom meeting with us to talk about what we were looking for.

We said we were interested in a mix of a inland and ocean, and that we'd love recommendations for places he wished more people would visit. He put together an itinerary with 2 night in Turrialba, 2 nights in San Gerardo de Dota, and 3 in Manuel Antonio.

About a month before we departed, I decided to add some excursions. Jose was very gracious and fast with adding these, and making some small changes to our accommodations.

When we arrived, everything happened exactly as he said it would. The rental car was excellent - an almost new 4WD Toyota, and all accommodations and excursions were ready for us. We never had to call but it was a great comfort to know we had someone in the country who could help 24/7.

When we return, even though we have a better sense of the country now, I expect we'd still work with Jose/Horizontes again - the experience exceeded every expectation.

Superb experience with Horizontes with Jose and his team.

We recently returned from a long trip where we trusted Horizontes with four weeks of the Costa Rica section of our travels. I'm so glad we did, from the start everything was looked after and planed, budgets were adhered too and there were plenty of ideas!

Previously we've sorted ourselves when traveling, this time we had our 6 year old daughter in tow and wanted that security of using an agent. We are so glad we did, a tropical storm moved in and the first hotels we had booked to stay in closed down, Jose rearranged the complete tour in less than 24 hours, everything was taken care of. The value of an agent with these skills and work ethic cannot be understated. It turned what could have been a hugely stressful part of our trip into a few emails and messages.

We just came home from a 12 day trip to Costa Rica that was arranged by Jose. This trip included 3 charter flights to various locations, several long car transports, and a boat transfer along with numerous transports to excursions. Every single element of this trip went seamlessly. We never waited for a ride to show up and the communication was impeccable. The accomodations at each location was beautiful (especially at Fortuna and Nosara) and my family enjoyed this trip so much. Thank you Horizontes for arrangng such a wonderful and carefree experience!

We have spent 7 amazing days in CR having out trip designed by Jose Huertas. We knew from the very beginning that 7 days might not be enough so I asked Jose to keep us busy and to plan that trip in a way that we would want to come back. We started off with absolutely beautiful Tortuguero and here I have to mention the Casa Cecropia experience (a must do chocolate tour!) then went to the Pacific side to Manuel Antonio followed by magical Arenal and finished out trip off with breathtaking views and unforgetable encounter with the animals in the Peace Lodge rescue center. But I think that the biggest test of the agency takes place when things do not go as planned. During our stay the tropical storm was passing through CR followed by heavy rains so suddenly we had to redesign our itinerary completely. Within two hours we had a plan B which turned out to be even reacher than the initial one. These guys are super agile, available 24/7 and every day do the extra mile to make your stay special. They do not deliver tours but a genuine experience. Thank you Jose and all the team! We will come back for sure! Pura vida!
