Pigeon Island National Park

Named after the rock pigeon that can be found on Pigeon Island, the national park is one of the two marine national parks in Sri Lanka.
The larger of the two islands hosts an extensive coral reef with over a hundred species of coral 300 fish varieties, including blacktip reef sharks and multiple species of turtle.
Accessible by boat from Nilaveli, the highlight of Pigeon Island is it’s diving and snorkelling as well as various other water sport activities with the sandy beaches offering a relaxing spot to unwind.
