Khevsureti
Khevsureti, sandwiched between the more famous Kazbegi and Tusheti regions, is a lesser-known but stunning place to go hiking and walking. I like its rough mountains, ancient shrines, and remote fortified villages.Wild rivers lead to atmospheric villages, ancient shrines and well-marked trails. Try traversing the Chaukhi Mountain Pass before descending through the alpine Abudelauri Lakes.
Unlike Svaneti or Kazbegi, Khevsureti is only accessible during the summer months when snow starts to melt.
