Kariega, a family-owned and managed 10,000-hectare private reserve, occupies former ranch and farmland in the Eastern Cape.
Reintroducing native wildlife that was eradicated during the 19th and 20th centuries, Kariega now boasts thriving populations of southern Africa's classic large mammals, such as lions, elephants, and rhinos.
The reserve's landscape of coastal bush and lush river valleys provides habitats for abundant avian species, while the reserve's location near the Garden Route allows for easy access to picturesque beaches.
