Responsible tourism to Northern Vietnam
ETHOS began as an INGO, providing vocational training for ethnic minority children in Sapa District at the turn of the century.
Driven by compassion, we morphed and grew into a socially responsible company. We now provide experiential tours for conscientious travellers seeking authentic cultural exchanges. Our aim is to provide exceptional community based tourism opportunities which in turn fund an expansive range of social development projects.
ETHOS experiences focus strongly around the rich cultural diversity of Northern Vietnam. We avoid mere sightseeing tours in favour of deeper cultural exchanges and interactions between travellers and local people.

My husband and I joined the Simply Hmong experience and it was truly amazing! Right before we went on the trek with a Hmong guide, we were comfortably seated at the Ethos house to have a chit chat session with a local Hmong teen, Cha. It was amazing hearing stories about their history culture in Sapa and it was really educational.
Mi was our guide and she was really nice and open in sharing her stories and life. She also made sure to take care of us on the trek since we weren’t too experienced trekking through muddy rice fields with lots of steep slope!

We had the most incredible experience on our day trip with a local Hmong family and our guide Pang! A short trek through the stunning fields, surrounded by such beauty, then lunch with a local family was a truly magical experience.
Learning about the Hmong people's lives and culture firsthand added such depth to our journey through Vietnam.
We highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the Hmong community.

The people and guides at ETHOS are some of the kindest and most incredible people I’ve met. They really want to make your experience perfect to your needs and wants, and will go out of their way to make it special. Really recommend the 2 day, 1 night trip as you get a really authentic experience! They are here to show you the culture and lives of ethnic minorities and makes you feel very welcome. They also helped me get a good bus when I was leaving and made sure I had the best time. I would definitely come back and do their tours again! Unforgettable experience and something you should book.
