Start your Antarctica adventure in Ushuaia, taking a day to explore the city or hiking to Marshall Glacier. Embark your boat in the afternoon and start your voyage with a lecture from your expedition leader, before settling in for the night. The next two days will see you cross Drake’s Passage, an 800km stretch of water known for its abundance of seabirds, whales and iceberg sightings, before landing on the White Continent at the South Shetland Islands, Bransfield Strait and the Antarctic Peninsula itself. Expect to make two landings each day (dependent on weather), where you’ll see penguins, seals, whales and some of the most remote and inspiring scenery in the world.

Set sail from Punta Arenas and cruise through the channels and dramatic fjords of Chilean Patagonia. After stopping to explore Cape Horn, cross the infamous Drake Passage and sail south to the Antarctic Peninsula. Spend at least a week exploring the frozen desert, its noisy penguins, pods of whales and abandoned whaling stations before returning north to Punta Arenas via the wildlife-rich Falkland Islands.

Embark your boat in Ushuaia and head out into the South Atlantic ocean, passing through the Beagle Channel and past the islands of Tierra del Fuego, where you can see dolphins and whales. Stop at the Falkland Islands for world-class birdwatching, penguin colonies and the charming capital Stanley. From here, you’ll head east past remote ice mountains towards the wildlife paradise of South Georgia. Home to more than 100 million seabirds, 100,000 elephant seals and 3 million fur seals, this is wildlife watching on an unparalleled scale. South Georgia is also home to the historic whaling station of Grytviken and is the final resting place of legendary explorer, Ernest Shackleton. Your journey culminates in the magnificent scenery of the Antarctic Peninsula, before returning across the Drake Passage to South America.

Board your ship in Hobart, Tasmania’s historical port town, and sail south to the Balleny Islands, a snow-covered wonderland of glaciated, volcanic islands and ice floes. See the historic huts at Cape Adare, iceberg dotted Terra Nova Bay and the massive Drygalski Ice Tongue. Expeditions take you to see McMurdo Station and Scott’s Discovery Hut and to survey the vast Ross Ice Shelf. After 23 days cruising through pack ice and glacier landings in search of remote penguin colonies return north via Coulman Island before eventually reaching Christchurch on New Zealand’s South Island.
