iSimangaliso Wetland Park, on the KwaZulu-Natal far northern coast, is a real gem for nature lovers. who've had their fill of the classic safari experience.

Covering over 332,000 hectares of beach, reefs, wetlands and forests, the park is home to hippos and crocodiles but the real draw is the hundreds of bird species including the rate Pel's Fishing Owl and Narina Trogon.

It’s also a crucial spot for some endangered turtles, including leatherback and loggerhead turtles, that come to nest on the beaches.
