Give yourself a fortnight and visit both of New Zealand’s two main islands. Start at Wellington, at the south of the North Island, with a hike up nearby Mount Victoria for views of the city. Then, hop across the water and explore the vineyards at Nelson. From here, travel down the west coast where you’ll encounter the magnificent Franz Josef Glacier. Then come inland to the scenic Lake Wanaka and Glenorchy, filled with Middle-earth mystery. If you’re feeling brave, try skydiving to experience the landscape in its full glory. Then, admire the waterfalls at Milford Sound before heading towards Lake Tekapo for incredible views of the Southern Alps. Finish your trip wandering around the vibrant streets of Christchurch on the east coast.
