Begin your trip on the Kenyan side of the great migration with a trip to the Masai Mara. In season, you’ll witness the famed Mara River crossing, or alternatively see the wildebeest herds grazing on the Mara’s plains. From here, head to Lake Nakuru for giraffes, rhinos and pink flamingos, before driving to the Kenya-Tanzania border and stopping at Lake Victoria — the heart of Africa and source of the Nile. As you journey into Tanzania, you’ll travel to the Serengeti. Depending on season, you can witness the wildebeest calving, grazing or forming giant mega-herds, as well as a variety of other wildlife. Head south to the Ngorongoro Crater for a walking safari, before ending in cultural Arusha.
