Abseiling Day Tours

This is a fantastic introduction to abseiling for the whole family, ages 5yr+. Climb through the railings to the 90ft drop below to begin your adrenaline fuelled descent.

Abseiling was originally used as an improvised mountaineering technique for safeguarding sections of steep ground during descent. Today, abseiling remains an essential skill used by cavers, mountaineers and rock climbers for either exploration, continuation of a journey or to enable access to areas such as sea cliffs in relative safety.
Abseiling is a classic high sensation, high thrill experience. It is understandably very popular with our groups for these reasons. Given the time and the correct terrain even the most apprehensive person will come back for another go.

A real life computer game! Dropped off at a remote location, you choose to race the clock or another group in your party. Avoid capture whilst solving problems and finding clues to navigate to the next location and ultimately find the computer code before the bad guys. The clues can be in hard to access locations, so weaselling, rock climbing, abseiling and zip lining/high ropes are likely to be involved amongst other challenges.

Don your wet-suit and walk, scramble, climb and jump in an ancient freshwater gorge. You’ll traverse ancient rock, slides, chutes, waterfalls and whirlpools, it’s certainly an exhilarating end to this MAD day.

Prepare to get muddy as you delve into the wild subterranean world of Bagshawe Cavern. Additional MAD points available for those crazy enough to take on the challenge of squeezing themselves through The Masher.

The history of the Peak District National Park is etched in the unique gritstone crags that line the valley edges. This world-famous rock, besides being an integral part of the area’s industrial heritage, has formed the favoured vertical playground for generations of climbers and scramblers. Follow in their footsteps by climbing, scrambling and abseiling under the expert guidance of a local instructor. Suitable for all abilities to discover a different view of the Peak District.

Climbing on Gritstone, Limestone, Trad, sport and multi pitch. The aim of the course is to give you a solid and robust grounding in the key skills of climbing. Each course is bespoke to the people that attend - the pace will be dictated by the speed at which clients learn and the level of challenge acceptable to the individual. Although there will be no pressure to lead climb (climbing without the protection of a rope from above) - for most people this is the aim of the week.

Acclimbatize rock climbing courses are delivered to the highest national standards.
Many of our staff team are approved providers and directors of the ‘Mountain Training‘ schemes, including; The Rock Climbing Instructor Award and the Rock Skills Scheme or are members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors.
