Visit Puno’s tiny Naval Museum, 140 miles from the sea. The museum contains a few naval artefacts and scale models of ships built specifically for use on Lake Titicaca. These include models of two British-built steamships, the Yavari and Yapura. These ships were both built in England and brought all the way across the ocean and the Andes to Puno. The Yavari can still be seen docked in Puno’s port today.
