Toubkal National Park
Morocco’s most popular hiking destination is Toubkal National Park, in the High Atlas Mountains roughly an hour’s drive from Marrakech. Home to Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, this is a region of sparse, rocky and snow-capped (in winter) peaks which make for some excellent trekking and hiking, not least the famous Mt Toubkal Trek. But it’s not all heavy-going slogs; you’ll see traditional Berber villages and pretty towns, a welcome relief from the chaos and heat of Marrakech.
