About the role

We're a scaling tech & media startup with massive ambitions and we're looking for an exceptional Business Development Representative to play a central role in our sales and growth.

You’ll take lead responsibility for driving our global sales plan. This includes managing all new deals from prospect to close, working with the sales team to nurture prospects, conduct exploratory calls and/or face-to-face meetings, conduct product demos and negotiate contracts. You’ll attend industry events and exhibitions as part of the leadership team, building relationships with potential partners and proactively helping spread awareness of our innovative, market-leading solution.

You’ll be based either in our Sheffield HQ, or somewhere within easy access. If remote, you’ll spend at least one day per week in Sheffield, and will also spend time travelling for face to face meetings within the UK and beyond.

This is a target-driven position, and your primary goal will be to consistently hit your numbers, while having fun along the way and becoming a core member of the Horizon team.

  • Manage and develop our sales & growth plan.
  • With our SDR, identify and research new prospects and maintain a full sales pipeline.
  • Own and manage the full sales cycle for all incoming deals, from prospect to demo to completion. Manage CRM, maintaining accurate and timely records & scheduled activities.
  • Lead deal negotiations and contracts.
  • Quickly become an expert in the travel & tourism media, advertising and marketing landscape, and where the Horizon product & value proposition fits within the ecosystem.
  • Become an evangelist for the Horizon brand and solution.
  • Become an integral part of the Horizon team and culture.

About you

You’ll have:

  • At least 2 years B2B sales experience in an entrepreneurial or startup environment (essential).
  • Demonstrated record of consistently hitting sales targets (essential).
  • Extraordinary self-motivation and perseverance to plough on despite the inevitable setbacks (essential).
  • Travel/tourism expertise and/or SaaS / startup sales experience (desirable/bonus).
  • An understanding of subscription revenue metrics (desirable/bonus).
